Biofeedback Therapy for Constipation in Delhi

Around 40% of people with chronic constipation push with the wrong muscles — the anal sphincter tightens instead of relaxing. No laxative fixes that. Biofeedback uses manometry sensors and a screen to show you what your muscles are doing, and trains the correct pattern in a handful of sessions.

Who benefits

Dyssynergic defecation proven on anorectal manometry; incomplete evacuation and straining; faecal incontinence with weak sphincters; some children with chronic constipation.

consultation

What a session involves

A small sensor catheter is placed; you watch the pressure trace and practise coordinated relaxation and pushing with the therapist's guidance. 45–60 minutes, typically 4–6 sessions a week or two apart, plus home exercises.

Questions about biofeedback therapy

Is biofeedback painful?

No. It is a training exercise, not a procedure.

How soon does it work?

Most patients notice easier evacuation after 2–3 sessions; the full course consolidates the change.
