Dr Maneesh Paliwal graduated from University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi (1996), completed his MD in Internal Medicine at Lady Hardinge Medical College (2001) and his DM in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute, Lucknow (2007) — one of India's most competitive super-speciality programmes. He holds the SCE in Gastroenterology from the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) and trained in Japan in advanced endoscopic techniques.
His speciality is luminal gastroenterology — the food-pipe, stomach and intestines — with particular depth in reflux, IBS, chronic constipation, inflammatory bowel disease and celiac disease, alongside a full hepatology practice covering fatty liver, hepatitis B and C and cirrhosis. He has served as Senior Consultant at Medanta – The Medicity and Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, as Head of Gastroenterology at Yatharth Hospital, and now at PSRI Hospital, South Delhi.
Firsts
- Established Delhi's first dedicated Luminal Gastroenterology Lab for GI pathophysiology and motility testing in 2010 — the first in any private hospital in the city.
- Pioneered solid-state and 3D high-resolution manometry in India's private sector.
- Over 3,500 oesophageal and anorectal manometry, 24-hour pH-impedance and biofeedback studies; over 800 capsule endoscopies.
- Trained in Japan in magnification endoscopy, narrow-band imaging, EMR and ESD for early GI cancer — performed by very few doctors in India.
