Grade 2–3 fatty liver with a raised FibroScan, reversed in a year
A man in his 30s frightened by a 'grade 3' ultrasound report and a FibroScan of 9 kPa, told elsewhere he was heading for cirrhosis.
Presentation
BMI 31, prediabetes, high triglycerides, no alcohol. CAP 320 dB/m, stiffness 9.1 kPa.
Approach
An hour-long first consultation explaining what the numbers meant. A dietitian-built Indian meal plan cutting sugar and refined carbohydrates, resistance training three times a week, treatment of prediabetes with a liver-friendly agent, and a FibroScan every six months at the clinic.
